Gathering

Oystercatchers are elegant birds both in colour and stature. They have long tapered beaks and feed by sight and touch, tapping to find mussels and cockles buried in the sand or on rocky shorelines and then using their beak to prize open and eat. As I stand there watching them, I am drawn to their patience, working slowly and methodically to find their food. They seem to have a sense of purpose, I can learn from them.
