This is a sculpture of a friend, a constant observer and a gardener’s companion. I’ve had a number of robins visit my garden this past year and as I’ve been at home I’ve had more of a chance to study their personality as I weeded my veg patch outside. I thought robins were territorial but it turns out, the 3 males are living in harmony, barring the odd chase.
I have endeavoured to represent this wonderful little character in a sculpture made of various gauges of guitar wire, wood, dried sweet pea tendrils, thread and roots from my garden. I like that the materials used in construction reinforce the character of this little singer. The majority of the materials are recycled, except for the red and orange thin wire on the legs and breast.
The Dimensions are H 18cm x W 19 x D 9cm
