Verdent Greens

I became quite addicted to painting grass whilst creating this painting, all the colour variation, brush stroke control and translucent layers.

The painting as it developed took on a calm almost meditative process; one which I had previously resisted in my life but somehow felt right during the Summer of 2020.

I always loved walking in long grass and stroking it, running my hand up the stalks and scattering the seed. It is such a multi-sensory experience isn’t it.
